The story behind xhebit

The idea to develop xhebit, a one-stop sustainable events platform, was first conceived in 2015. This idea originated from observing the intensive use of resources, wasteful practices, waste, and even more waste at many events. Given the number of events that take place everyday in Singapore (small and big), I was probably only witnessing a small part of the un-sustainable nature of events.

It occurred to me that non-sustainable practices could and should be replaced with sustainable options. Interestingly, when I attempted to search online for information on sustainable events in the Singapore context, it was sparse and scattered. It took extensive searches for anything to surface, thus consuming a lot of time. If finding sustainable options and solutions for events was so time consuming, there was clearly a problem.

The solution? A one-stop platform that provides the necessary resources for event organisers to start planning green.

As a one-stop platform, xhebit guides event organisers through the process of planning a sustainable event, provides examples of successful green events in Singapore (local context), and is working on building a marketplace of vendors that provide sustainable products & services for events. We work to constantly source & update the platform with sustainable initiatives that can support the transition to greener events. We welcome you to join us in this effort to green the events industry.
